Frequently Asked Questions
A riser recliner is an electrically operated chair that reclines for comfort and also lifts forwards to help make sitting down and standing up easier. Chiltern Care Chairs offers a wide range of riser recliners in different sizes, styles and motor options.
A single motor riser recliner uses one motor to move the backrest and footrest together. A dual motor chair allows these areas to move more independently, giving you greater control over your sitting position. Some Chiltern Care Chairs models are available with different motor options depending on the level of adjustment you need.
The right chair should suit your height, seat depth and sitting position. Your feet should rest comfortably on the floor when upright, while the seat should support you without pressing behind your knees. Chiltern Care Chairs can help you compare different chair sizes at its Chesham showroom or during a free home visit.
The powered rise function can reduce the effort needed to move from sitting towards standing, while also helping you lower yourself into the chair in a more controlled way. The right fit is important, as seat height, depth and arm support can all affect how comfortable the movement feels.
